Chicken Curry


Ingredients
Chicken-  2lbs
Ginger garlic paste- 2 tsp
Onion- 2 small finely chopped
Tomato- 2 finely chopped
Green chillies- 3 slit lengthwise
Turmeric powder
Chicken masala- 2 tsp( Sakthi or Achi's brand)
Coriander leaves- to garnish


For tempering
Cinnamon- 1"
Cloves- 2
Star anise- 2
Fennel seeds- 1 tsp
Curry leaves- few


To grind
Grated coconut - 1 cup
Black pepper- 1 tbsp
Grind into a fine paste


Method

  1. In a pan add butter and splutter the tempering ingredients.
  2. Add onion, ginger-garlic paste, green chillis and tomato.
  3. Saute till the onion mix comes to a gravy consistency.
  4. Add the chicken pieces, turmeric powder and the chicken masala.
  5. Add 1 cup of water and close the pan with a lid.
  6. When the chicken is cooked, add the ground coconut paste and boil for 5 more minutes.
  7. When the desired gravy consistency is reached, remove from heat. 
  8. Garnish with coriander leaves.





Serve it with naan or dosa.
