Ingredients
Anaheim Chilies- 6( long mild green chili)
Onion- 1 large chopped finely
Turmeric powder- 1/4tsp
Tamarind paste- 1tsp
Salt- as needed
For grinding
Peanuts- 1/4 cup roasted
White sesame seeds- 3tbsp
Dry coconut powder- 2tbsp
Dried red chili- 4
Coriander seeds- 1tbsp
Cumin seeds- 1tsp
Cinnamon- 1"
Cloves- 2
Method
- Fry the chilies in 1tbsp of oil until soft. Drain in a paper towel and set it aside.
- In 1 tbsp of oil , fry the ingredients listed for grinding(add the coconut powder in the end so as not to burn it). Grind with 1/2 cup of water and the tamarind paste.
- In a pan, heat oil and splutter mustard and cumin seeds. Add curry leaves.
- Add the ground paste to the pan and fry well. Add water according to desired consistency and bring to a boil. Add the fried chilies and cook for 10 more minutes.
- Remove from heat and serve warm with zeera rice or rotis.
