Simple dhal



Ingredients
Toor dhal- 2 cups
Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
Salt- as needed


For tempering
Oil- 2tbsp
Mustard seeds- 1tsp
Urad dhal- 1tbsp
Cumin seeds- 1tsp
Asafoetida- 1/4tsp
Curry leaves- few
Green chili- 2 slit lengthwise


Method

  1. Pressure cook the dhal with 3 cups of water, salt and turmeric powder.
  2. Do the seasoning and add to the dhal.
  3. Serve warm with rice and papad.
  4. A spicy dish like potato fry will be a good accompaniment for this dish.
