Vermicelli Kheer




Ingredients
Vermicelli- 2 cups
Whole milk- 4 cups
Condensed milk- 1 cup
Sugar- 1 cup
Cashews- 6
Raisins- 1tbsp
Ghee- 1+ 1tbsp(clarified butter)

Method

  1. In a heavy bottom vessel, melt 1tbsp of ghee and fry the cashews. Drain and set it aside.
  2. In the same pan add the vermicelli and roast till golden brown.
  3. Add milk to the pan and bring to a boil. When the milk boils, reduce the flame to low heat and keep stirring until the vermicelli is cooked.
  4. Add the condensed milk and sugar* and stir until all the sugar is dissolved.
  5. Remove from heat and garnish with fried cashews and raisins.


* Taste for sweetness and increase sugar if needed, condensed milk also has sugar in it.
