Chettinad Chicken Fry



Ingredients
Chicken- 2 lbs with bone
Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
Ginger garlic paste- 1tsp
Lemon Juice- 1tbsp
Salt- as needed

To grind
Dried red chilies- 4
Coriander seeds- 1tbsp
Cumin seeds- 1tsp
Saunf- 1tbsp
Black pepper- 1 tbsp
Cinnamon- 1"
Cloves- 2
Dried Coconut powder- 2tbsp

Method

  1. Marinate the chicken with ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder and salt for 15 minutes.
  2. Dry roast the ingredients listed under "to grind" one by one and grind into a coarse powder.
  3. Add the powder to the marinated chicken and mix well. Set aside for 30 minutes.
  4. In a non stick pan, heat oil and add the chicken and saute for 2 minutes until the chicken turns white in a high flame.
  5. Reduce the flame to medium and cover the pan with a lid and cook for 10 minutes or until the chicken is completely cooked.
  6. Remove the lid and increase the flame and fry the chicken until well browned.
  7. Sprinkle with lemon juice and mix well.

Serve warm.
